History
Serving Our Community
Since 1959
Founded in 1959, Dar Manhal al Hayat (DMAH) began with the practical vision of two missionaries, Mabel Summers and Virginia Cobb. Observing a critical need for the children of new believers, they translated and copied out Sunday school materials by hand.
This work quickly evolved into a publishing house known as Baptist Publications, which met the rising demand for Arabic Christian resources with new books about education, discipleship, evangelism, and spiritual flourishing. To expand its influence in the Arab world, the team later changed the name from Baptist Publications to Dar Manhal al Hayat, which means “Source of Life” in Arabic.
In 1998, DMAH joined with several other ministries under the new locally led Lebanese Society for Educational and Social Development (LSESD), a faith-based organization whose mission is to equip the Church and serve the community in Lebanon and the wider MENA region. Today, DMAH is one of the leading Evangelical Christian publishers in the Middle East.
